MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE PARKS COMMITTEE

 HELD ON TUESDAY 4TH MARCH 2008 AT 7.45PM

IN TOWER COURT, HORNS LANE, PRINCES RISBOROUGH

1. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE

 

Apologies were received and accepted from Cllr B Bendyshe-Browne

 

2. MINUTES

 

The minutes of the previous meeting, having been previously circulated, were approved by the Meeting and signed by the Chairman.

 

3. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

 

Members were asked to declare any personal interest and the nature of that interest in which they may have in any of the items under consideration at this meeting.  None were declared.

 

4. CORRESPONDENCE

 

Letter from WDC re: letter received from local resident complaining about problems with youths entering her garden.

 

After a long discussion, it was agreed that the responsibility for this area lies with the B.C.C. Rights of Way .Dept. The Clerk is requested to respond to W.D.C. that the matter is being referred to the B.C.C.                                             SG

 

Letter from Princes Risborough Festival re: use of recreation grounds for the Summer Festival.

All present agreed that it was in order for the Festival to use the KGV.     SG

 

Letter from Cirque do Normandy re: use of recreation grounds

 

All present agreed to offer the KGV at a cost of £150.00 providing that the field is left in the same state as when they arrived. All damage to the field must be repaired and litter cleared                                                                                   SG

5. PARK REPORTS INCLUDING MONTHLY RISK ASSESSMENT REPORT

Wades

The Clerk informed the members that the bollards are being reinstated on the Risborough Springs side of the entrance to Wades Park.

 

St Dunstan’s

 

A resident has complained about a black poplar tree that has overhanging branches in his garden.

The Clerk is requested to reply that he has the Town Councils permission to cut any overhanging branches.                                                                    SG                     

 

 

MONTHLY RISK ASSESSMENT REPORT

 

The Chairman confirmed that all high risk items have been actioned.

 

 

6.  INVOICES FOR CONFIRMATION

 

 Payment was agreed for the following invoices:-

 

TBS Hygiene                         Dog Waste Collection          £306.00

J Summerbell                        Repairs to the Dovecote      £220.00

Sure Care Maintenance       Litter Picking                       £2126.75

 

 

7. TENDERS FOR CONSIDERATION

 

None to consider

 

8. THE FOOTPATH AND HEDGE ACROSS THE BACK OF THE CRESCENT PARK

 

After a long discussion, all present agreed to request the Clerk to write in strong terms to the B.C.C. Rights of Way department to request that immediate action is taken.                                                                                                               SG                                                                                                                                                                                                                

 

9. THE NEED FOR A PATH IN THE KGV

 

All present agreed to request the Clerk to write to Churchill Homes requesting their help in providing a new path across the KGV from Wellington Avenue to the Aylesbury Road as a gesture of goodwill. The path would be of direct benefit to the prospective residents of their development and would improve the

10. AGENDA ITEMS FOR THE NEXT MEETING

 

To decide which rules and recommendations for Playing Fields is to be recommended to the Town Council for adoption.

 

 

NEXT MEETING

 

The next meeting of the Committee will take place on Tuesday 6th May 2008 at 7.45pm in Tower Court, Horns Lane, Princes Risborough.
